A Callout to Every Kalymnian in Sydney!
As part of the Kalymnian Association of NSW's 75th Anniversary Legacy Program, we are proud to host this year's OXI Day Flag-Raising Ceremony at the ANZAC Memorial, Hyde Park, Sydney, on Sunday 25 October, 2026 at 1:30 PM.
We are reaching out to every Kalymnian family in Sydney and calling on our community to come together in force for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity where our youth will parade alongside the Greek Presidential Guard, the Evzones, who have travelled directly from Greece, before standing with them during the official ceremony.
We want to see as many young Kalymnians as possible proudly dressed in traditional Kalymnian costume, representing our island, our culture and our community.
Youth participants in traditional attire will enjoy:
🇬🇷 The opportunity to parade with the Evzones.
🇬🇷 Exclusive access to the ceremonial forecourt area reserved specifically for our Kalymnian youth.
🇬🇷 Inclusion in an official commemorative group photograph with the Evzones.
