As part of the Kalymnian Association of NSW's 75th Anniversary celebrations, we are honoured to announce our role as an Official Event Partner for the visit of the Evzones, the Presidential Guard of Greece, to Sydney, for OXI DAY, under the auspices of the NSW Government and the Hellenic Club Sydney.
For 75 years, the Kalymnian Association of NSW has remained steadfast in its commitment not only to preserving the heritage of Kalymnos, but also to celebrating and advancing the traditions, culture, history and future of Greece. This significant occasion reflects that enduring dedication to Hellenism and the generations who will carry it forward.
On Sunday 25 October at 1.30pm, we will host the official Flag Raising Ceremony at the ANZAC Memorial, Hyde Park, one of the most important and symbolic events of the Evzones' visit. In a moment of immense pride, our Kalymnian children, dressed in traditional attire, will stand in a place of honour during this historic ceremony. Stay tuned for further announcements about this.
The celebrations will continue that evening with a special Taverna Night at Mediterranean Magic, Pyrmont, where guests will have the opportunity to meet the Evzones in a more personal setting.
Mediterranean Magic Suite 108, Jones Bay Wharf 26-32 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont From 6.30pm | Adults Only Tickets: $85 per person Bookings: (02) 9360 5555 info@mediterraneanmagic.com.au
As we commemorate 75 years of service to our community and our culture, we invite all members and friends to join us for an occasion that honours our heritage, celebrates our identity and reaffirms our commitment to preserving the proud legacy of Kalymnos / Greece for generations to come.
